- Skype brought down by double whammy of overloaded servers, client bugs – The recent Skype failure was caused by a problem with a certain version of their software running on approx 40% of windows machines. As the network is peer-to-peer this caused widespread problems and shows the risks of poor quality control in a distributed environment.
